CHIEF FACTOR'S
REPORT
Spring is coming quickly to the West Coast, as evinced by
longer, warmer days. It is time to get on the ground and
practice skills with your NAF Brothers and Sisters.
Activity I have to report is once again pretty much
limited to the West. The Winter encampment was held at
Apache Canyon, near New Cuyama, California. The weather
was good and approximately fifteen members attended. The
site is beautiful, and we are able to have fires and to
practice with our weapons.
If you are unable to attend anything else, please make
every attempt to make it to the Rye, Colorado National
Rendezvous. I think you will be glad you did. The site is
gorgeous and our Captain has some fine events planned for
us. If you can, try to stop by Bent's Old Fort, a
historical landmark and fur trade institution East of
Pueblo, Colorado. It is well worth seeing.
If you are coming from the West, and are traveling
through New Mexico, if you have never visited Taos and/or
Santa Fe, you might want to put them on your itinerary.
The Captain has informed me that he is planning a Spring
event in California. I hope to hear from some of you
regarding your plans for the coming year.
