Waugh the Camp,

Well much has happened since the last issue of Smoke Signals. I'm back in CA again and have appointed an assistant, Jack (Captain Jack) Swallows NAF#116 from the 3 Pines Party to give me a hand with what I hope to be some real good encampments and period trips.

I have also talked to Rhonda Doss Summerlin NAF#50 and Assoc member Tracy Maccarthy about getting our heads together finding a central point for a 3-7 day horse camping trek, as well as other places to have ride in these states. We're going on be working on one ride that will be if possible the same driving distance for all so that NAF members from all over can hopefully attend. With me in CA, Rhonda in CO and Tracy in UT, we think we can come up with many good trips in the future.

George Thomson and I were planning a 3-5 day horse trip for here in CA this spring but that got put on hold due to the NAF nationals being held here in CA. Captain Jack and I are talking about doing a CA horse trip for next spring, in the Hollister area. Any one interested feel free the shoot me an email, we are looking into rental horses for those that don't own their own  horses. Jack made a suggestion of a canoe trip as well. I know nothing of canoes or putting on a canoe trip so if anyone is interested in going on one or knows of any places that would work for doing a canoe trip please email me with your ideas or thoughts on the matter.

Pat Q who has been doing the Sec/Treas job for quite a long time now, and is ready to pass it on to some one else. Any of you that may be interested in doing that may send in your name as this is an election year.

Once again I put this out to all members, if you have any ideas for encampments or places to have them please send me an email. I'd like to hear any ideas from you on how you think we can make our group better. As officers we are here for you, your feed back is needed. Tell us what you think. I hope your all getting on the ground as much as ya want and having a great time doing it.
