Sliding lid razor box. A reproduction done correctly pinned sliding lid with a brass screw. Done in walnut with a shellac finish, measures overall length 9 inches. Horn Comb - Lye Soap - Candles. Horn comb black in color. A little over 3-7/8 inches long and about 1-3/8 inches high. Gramma's Era Lye Soap just like the soap that cleaned our forefathers centuries ago. This is a new bar, just a few months old & have already started to turn color to the commonly seen pale yellow. Beeswax candles (standard wax variety) in a package of 4. These white colored candles will in time turn to a mellow yellow color, 5 inches tall, perfect for your period lanterns. Ride in style with a correct period whip. A reproduction done correctly; pinned harness leather straps in a mule deer antler, hand rubbed boiled linseed oil finish. With two professionally painted turkey feathers that only an expert could detect as not being real eagle feathers. The feathers are wrapped in old trade wool with a brain tanned leather wrist strap. Handle measurers 11 inches long by 1-1/4 inch base & 1/2 inch at tip. The harness leather straps measurer 15 inches long by 3/8 inches by 1/8 inch thick.  An adze or adz (pronounced /aedz/) is a tool used for smoothing rough-cut wood. Generally, the user stands astride a board or log and swings the adze downwards towards their feet, chipping off pieces of wood, moving backwards as they go and leaving a relatively smooth surface behind. This century old adze measures 10-3/4 inches in length with a 4 inch wide cutting edge, has the typical rectangle shaped hole for the handle. Original cost was over $25.  Period Shaving Kit   A correct mid 1700's through late 1800's shaving kit. The term "reproduction" can be misleading as with this shaving kit, the items listed & their firms have been making these very same items since before the American Civil War & are still in business supplying the same products. This Shaving Kit has the very best of everything listed, it doesn't get any better than these names or products. The only reproduction item listed was copied from an original by Mr. Peter Goebel of Goose Bay Workshops at my request, correct in every detail. The kit consists of: (1) German Boar Hair Shaving Brush. (new unused). (1) Reproduction Brass - tinned inside cup with brush holder pocket from Goose Bay Workshops. (new unused). (1) Dovo Solingen made in Germany/Swedish Steel, hollow ground straight razor (Silver Prima Steel) Ebenhols. (new unused). (1) Williams Shaving Soap (opened). (new unused). RAWHIDE BOX  Small Storage Box. I have seen mention in camp journals from the F&I War to the Fur Trade of this type of small hide container used to keep ones goods. Some are plain and some quite fancy with paintings and fringe. Here’s your chance to get a reproduction rawhide painted box that is correct from the F&I War to the Fur Trade. This box measurers 2-3/4 inches wide by 3 inches deep by 6-1/2 inches long. It is hand painted with period paint and brush by our own "Quill" Smith.
